Where can I find examples of projects using BIM metrics for collaboration with to assess the benefits of Building Information Modelling?
BIM – Building Information Modelling is a very broad description of the use of 3D CAD technologies on construction projects. The principle idea is that different design consultants can collaborate digitally and share design information easily. I am looking for information on building projects that were designed with coordinated Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Piping models. An example would be an Architect using Revit or Archicad, a structural engineer using Triforma, Fastrak or Orion and a building services engineer using Autodesk MEP or PDS. Are all the models combined in Navisworks or another model checker such as Solibri?
We are working on a number of these types of projects and we would like to use suitable metrics to assess the benefits of fully co-ordinated BIM Building Information Models.
We dont want to re-invent the wheel and we believe the data from our ongoing projects would be beneficial to clients, architects, engineers and contractors considering using BIM.
